Although it's usually best (and safest) to download apps from the Google Play Store, there are various situations where sideloading apps on Android is required, especially for enterprise/industrial use cases.
On many Android devices, the CloudHawk app will not appear in the Google Play Store for download to your device. If you're unable to download the CloudHawk app from the Play Store, you can follow the instructions below to sideload the app.
Please familiarize yourself with all steps below before clicking the Download CloudHawk APK button
- Download the CloudHawk app for Android by clicking the link below these instructions. Depending on your browser, you may be prompted to select a location to download the file. You may place it anywhere in your device's storage, the location does not affect these steps.
- When the download completes, open the file. Unless you have previously authorized your browser to install apps from unknown sources, you will see a prompt similar to the one below:
- Tap Settings. You will be taken to the Settings app on your device and shown a list of all your installed apps with the heading Install unknown apps. Toggle on the switch ON for your browser (in this example, we used Chrome to download the APK, so we'll turn on the switch for Chrome):
- As soon as you enable the switch for your browser, you should see a prompt to install the CloudHawk app. Tap Install:
- When the installation finishes, you will be able to find the app in your app drawer. To open it immediately, tap Open:
- After installing the app, we strongly recommend you return to Settings and turn off the switch to prevent installing apps from unknown sources in the future. You can do this anytime by opening Settings > Apps > Chrome (or your browser of choice) > Install unknown apps and toggling the switch OFF.
Please ensure you've read and understand ALL instructions above before proceeding.
Don't forget to turn off Install unknown apps when you're done!
